At Midday on Sunday, Blues will take on a huge relegation rival in Rotherham. Both sides need the 3 points and it should be a very entertaining affair.

Paul Warner’s side are trying to pull of a magnificent escape by utilising their games in hand on the teams above them. If the Millers were able to beat Blues and then win their two games in hand, they’d go above Bowyer’s Birmingham and the other teams in the survival scrap.

Freddie Ladapo has been vital for Rotherham’s battle against relegation, hitting form recently after a brace against QPR. The striker is now only one goal away from reaching double digits.

Arguably the biggest strength of the newly promoted side is their team spirit. It’s something that Paul Warne has prided his team on since taking over at the club. They won’t make it easy for Blues on Sunday afternoon.

Despite Ladapo’s form, Rotherham have still massively struggled for goals this season, and with the momentum that Harlee Dean and Marc Roberts are building, there’s a good chance that we will be able to keep the Millers out tomorrow.

Blues have been terrific since Lee Bowyer took charge of the club, with 3 wins, 1 draw and only 1 defeat in his first 5 games. These results have lead to a lot of Blues fans feeling almost at ease in regards to our survival. The doubt and anxiety seems to have almost vanished from the club’s atmosphere.

That being said, we are definitely not out of the woods yet. If Rotherham defeated Birmingham tomorrow, then Blues would fall to within 3 points off the drop zone, and Rotherham will still have their games in hand.

On the other hand, a victory would see Blues go nine points clear and leave Birmingham just 3 points off of 14th place. So this match really does change a lot in regards to the table.

Overall, both sides will be leaving everything they have out there to bring home the 3 points. I do think Blues will have just enough to take the 3 points.

Team News:

Joe Mattock is the only Rotherham player expected to miss Tomorrow’s match, with an ankle injury.

Jon Toral is expected to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury and Alen Halilovic will also miss the Rotherham game. Ivan Sanchez and Scott Hogan should be ready for Sunday’s Clash.

My Prediction:

Rotherham 1-2 Blues
