Blues will play their 3rd game in 6 days when they visit Pride Park to take on Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.

Rooney has came under a lot of stick from the Rams supporters in recent games. They are on a 4 game losing run, and are in a perilous position in regards to the relegation battle.

This all reflects very poorly on the former England manager, who claimed his side were “too good to go down” and yet as it stands,  they are relying on Rotherham not catching them.

They have undeniable talent in their ranks, and are still likely to stay up however. It is no question that Derby need the 3 points more than Blues today and they will be very up for it.

Bowyer’s men have a very large chip on their shoulder after some incredibly questionable officiating lead to them missing out on all 3 points on Wednesday night.

This anger will be turned into determination to leave the East Midlands with a victory today. Centre backs Harlee Dean and Marc Roberts seem to be the two favourites for player of the season at Blues. They’re performance today could be vital.

Both Lee Bowyer and the Squad are aware that a win today seals our survival and will do all they can to ensure Blues can breathe easily heading into the final 2 games.

Team News:

Scott Hogan isn’t able to feature today after picking up a hip injury. Alen Halilovic will return to Birmingham’s matchday squad.

The Rams will be missing Andre Wisdom and Kamil Jozwiak won’t be able to start in this clash.

My Prediction:

With both teams wanting a win today, I think it’ll be a fairly open affair with a lot of chances. I think it’ll come down to confidence today and I think Blues are superior in that category.

Derby 1-2 Blues
