Blues announced their second signing of the summer this afternoon, one day after their first. Goalscoring winger Jordan Graham has been officially unveiled on a free transfer.
It has been a very impressive opening to the transfer window, with 2 quality signings in 2 days, without spending a penny on transfer fees.
If the reports are true, and Craig Gardner has been dealing with the recent transfers, then he certainly deserves massive amounts of praise for the two new acquisitions.
The English Wide-man, who bagged a dozen goals last season, will definitely offer some much needed competition for Bela and Sanchéz. Possibly even dethroning one of Blues’ tricky wingers.
How will he fit in?
I would expect that Graham will initially start his Blues tenure as a backup player, due to the impressive seasons for both Jérémie Bela and Ivan Sanchéz.
However, if he can reach the goalscoring levels he did last season, Bowyer will have some serious questions when it comes to who will start on the flanks.
There is a good chance that there will be a fair amount of rotation throughout the season between all the wingers. There will be matches where the flair of Sanchéz, the pace of Bela and the goal threat of Graham will all come in handy.
